Criteria for Eligibility 

Please read the following in its entirety to confirm the eligibility of your application.

Not Eligible For Funding

Please see below for list of organizations, activities, services and expenses that are not eligible for funding through Tay Township's Grants and Donations Program:

  • Social assistance services that are provided by other levels of government;
  • Agencies or not-for-profit organizations excluding those programs or services that are funded in whole or in part by neighbouring municipalities;
  • Capital items including but not limited to equipment, machinery, tools, vehicles;
  • Travel expenses for members of the group/organization;
  • Sponsorship of athletic endeavours (team/individual sponsorship for tournaments, special events, regular season activities, etc.);
  • Individuals;
  • For-profit groups/organizations;
  • Organizations serving as funding sources for others, e.g. service clubs unless they are applying for funding for community festivals;
  • Faith organizations where services/activities include the promotion and/or require adherence to a faith;
  • Fundraising events;
  • School Boards, primary and secondary schools, and post-secondary institutions
  • Tay Township Boards/Committees;
  • Organizations that conduct the majority of their activities outside of Tay Township and do not provide a direct benefit to Tay residents; 
  • Organizations that did not submit the required Grant Report “Schedule B” reporting information for a previous year’s grant

Conditions of Receiving Grant Funding

As a condition of the award of a grant, the applicant agrees to complete the Grant Report (Schedule B) by December 31 of the year in which the funds were received.

Notice of Collection/Use/Disclosure: Personal information contained on this form is collected pursuant to Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, and will be used for the purpose of the Grants and Donations Program for 2026. 

Note: Funding requests are only granted on the condition that they will be used for activities/services available to Tay Township residents.
